Who doesn’t worry about crime and is tired of feeling vulnerable? There is no universal way to guarantee that you won’t become a victim but we can take steps to improve our odds of survival in case we do.
This isn’t a martial arts class and it isn’t fight club. This hands-on workshop focuses on the strategies and techniques of self defense. Its goals is to leave each student with a greater sense of awareness and a feel for some of the techniques that may help keep them safe. We will talk about mental preparation and visualization
First time students will learn basic strikes, punches, kicks, counter attacks and escapes to counter a potential assailant.
Returning students will review techniques learned in the first class, plus more advanced techniques and will begin to hone and develop a self defense skill set and strategy.
Classes begin at 9:00 each Saturday and end at 11:00. There is no prerequisite. All Adults and mature teens are welcome to attend. There is no presumption of any level of athletic ability and anyone can and will benefit from the instruction that will be given. The class is instructed by 3rd, 4th, and 6th degree black belts in Karate and Taekwondo and instructors of combat styles like Krav Maga.
